How to use DURO Natural Rust Preventive Primer No. 623

Iron and steel preparation: Remove rust completely. Surface must be dry and free of separation agents, grease and dust. Do not use any rust conversion products!

Coating format: Stir DURO Natural Rust Preventive Primer No. 623 thoroughly before use. Apply base coat of DURO Natural Rust Preventive Primer No. 623 thinned with 5 - 10 % SVALOS Thinner No. 222 with brush, roller, or spraying device. Sand in between with 220-grain sandpaper not earlier than 24 hours after application. Apply a sparing, undiluted second coat of DURO No. 623. In exterior areas, a subsequent treatment of the surface with VINDO Natural Gloss Paint No. 629 must follow within a week. In interior areas depending on the field of application, a final coat may be applied of AIDU Natural Radiator Paint No. 624, CANTO Natural White Satin Paint No. 625, CANTO Natural Matt Paint No. 692 or VINDO Natural Gloss Paint No. 629.

Zinc preparation interior: A thorough cleaning of the surface to ensure adhesion is necessary: e.g. create a solution of 5 liters of water, 1/4 liter of a 25 % solution of ammonia with a tablespoon of a wetting agent ( such as a dish washing detergent ), then scrub the surface with a corundum fleece such as Scotch Brite, do not use steel wool or a wire brush under any circumstances. A grey foam will develop after 10 minutes of scrubbing, rinse off thoroughly with water. Wear rubber gloves while mixing solution and scrubbing. Before treating with DURO, the surface must be completely dry.

Coating format: Follow coating format as for iron and steel above. Previously varnished zinc surfaces should not be painted over with DURO Natural Rust Preventive Primer No. 623.

Important tips: The Color tone might vary from batch to batch du to the raw materials used. DURO Natural Rust Preventive Primer No. 623 contains little solvent, so it tends to develop a skin. Before using, simply remove the skin and stir well. Apply coating only to thoroughly de-rusted surfaces immediately after the de-rusting procedure. Transfer unused portion of product into a smaller container for storage.
