BIO Japanese Seedlac - Interior

DESCRIPTION: A high quality timber polish, similar to shellac but with greater resistance to wear and temperature. A superb French polish, preferred by professionals for superior clarity and durability. Water-resistant, but alcohol-soluble. For interior use on fine furniture, musical instruments, cabinets, etc. Contains seedlac, tree resin and spirit of wine.

PREPARATION: Surface should be well sanded, dry and cleaned of greasy, waxy and dirty contaminants using BIO Thinner. Do not apply coatings to unseasoned or wet surfaces.  Hardwoods and other timbers rich in natural oils, waxes, acids and terpenes should be degreased using BIO Thinner because these substances may mix with the Japanese Seedlac and prolong its drying time. Imperfect coats may require complete stripping before applying BIO products.

APPLICATION: Ready to use mixture for brushed or traditional rubbed finish. Thin as desired with methylated spirit. Apply several coats to achieve a high sheen. Maintain a wet edge when painting.  Let harden for four hours between coats, and cut back with very fine steel wool or sandpaper before recoating. After final coat, leave for 24 hours, then wax with BIO ANTIQUE WAX Provide adequate ventilation during application and drying. Do not apply during cold and damp conditions.

VARIATION OF USES: Inside the cupboard doors- use Japaese Seedlac. Doors should be left open for 48hrs for complete drying time and ventilation.

CLEANING: Methylated spirit.

COVERAGE: 1 Litre covers approx. 10 sqm. Depending on the absorbency of the timber.

PRECAUTION: Flammable liquid UN No. 1263 Class 3.1 Packaging Group III. Keep away from open flames and out of the reach of children. Please dispose of used rags in a sealed metal container. Can spontaneously combust.

STORAGE: Keep tightly sealed in a cool and dry place. If after partial use of a tin of seedlac and/or storage longer than 3 months transfer the remainder into a glass bottle as the seam of the tin can dissolve.

PAINT DISPOSAL: Do not pour left over paint down the drain. Unwanted paint should be brushed out on newspaper, allowed to dry and then disposed of via domestic waste collection. Let empty container dry out as well and dispose via recycling program.
