Properties:
BIOFA Spezialgrund is a solvent-free mineral basecoat for
inside based on silicate and is specially designed for equalising
highly irregularly absorptive substrates. Filled and surfaced
plaster board (Rigips, Fermacel, etc.) and heavily repaired plaster
substrates which shall be treated in glazing techniques must be
treated with this special primer because joints and surfaced
patches may bleed through otherwise.
Ingredients:
Water, chalk, titanium dioxide, mineral powder made from
chlorite, mica and quartz, pure acrylate, potassium silicate,
organic ammonium compound, fatty acid polyether derivate, sodium
phosphonates, polysaccharide starch and potassium methyl
siliconate.
Instructions for use:
Pretreatment:
Substrates must be stable, in good condition and clean. Remove
latex, oil and synthetic resin coatings entirely. Cover
alkalisensitive surfaces! Repair hair cracks, shrinkage
cracks and other plaster damage thoroughly with mineral filling
compound. Highly absorptive or crumbling substrates must always be
pretreated with BIOFA SOLIMIN Fixativ (Fixative) 3045. Surfaces
from which the wallpaper has been removed must be slightly sanded
(grit size 60-100). Remove dust thoroughly (first use a broom or
vacuum cleaner, then wipe with a damp cloth) or clean thoroughly
with a brush and hot water. Prime with SOLIMIN Fixativ (Fixative)
3045 after 24 hours of drying. Wallpaper paste residues may cause
adhesion problems.
Important note: When coating the different substrates
with aqueous, open-pored coating systems, certain substances such
as lignin, nicotine, rust, various salts and moisture, etc. may
bleed through from the substrate or lead to discolouring or colour
differences. This is why it is absolutely necessary to check the
substrates for suitability and carry out preliminary tests (sample
surfaces). Observe VOB (Contract
Procedure for ConstructionWork)!
Application:
Mix SOLIMIN Spezialgrund thoroughly and apply by roller or
brush. Only add 3-5% of water or fixative if necessary. The special
primer can be tinted with silicate colour concentrates 1410-1419.
Do not apply below 5°C and provide for good fresh air
circulation.
VARIATION OF USES:
Cleaning of tools:
Clean with plenty of water and soap immediately after use.
Remove dried stains with BIOFA NATOLE 4060.
Drying:
Recoatable after approx. 6 hours.
Consumption/spreading rate per coat:
200 ml/m² or 5 m²/l on normally absorptive and smooth
substrates.
Storage:
Cool, dry, above freezing point and sealed airtight. Use up
opened containers soon.
Minimum shelf life of unopened containers: 1 year.
Attention: Risk of thickening if stored too warm.
Container size:
4 L or 10 L
Safety instructions:
Keep out of the reach of children. Protect eyes and skin from
paint splashes. After contact with eyes, skin or other
alkali-sensitive substrates such as varnish, wood, metal, plastic,
glass, natural stone, clinker, ceramics, etc., rinse with plenty of
water immediately. When spraying, do not breathe spray mist. Do not
empty into drains, aquatic environment or soil.
Disposal:
Dispose of liquid product residue at collection points for old
paints/varnishes or dispose of according to locally applicable
regulations. Small quantities of residue and soaked work materials
can be disposed of along with domestic waste after drying. Only
recycle cleaned or completely empty packaging with cured deposits
or dispose of according to locally applicable legal regulations.
Uncleanable packaging and packaging not emptied appropriately must
be treated and disposed of like the product!
