Range of application: For interior gluing with cork,
linoleum or carpet, with jute or soft rubber backing, on prepared
underground. Suitable for floor heating systems in accordance with
DIN 18 365 provided that heating and cooling provisions are
heeded.
Technical qualities: Viscous, easily spread, natural
resin dispersion adhesive. After settling, produces a durable,
elastic bond. Capable of full impact use after 3 to 5 days.
Adhesive stability at temperatures between 0 - 50o C (32 - 122
oF).
Full declaration: Water, natural latex, talcum, casein,
borax, natural resin ester, isoaliphates and xanthan gum.
Colour: Whitish when wet, yellowish after airing.
Application method: Apply with a fine-toothed putty knife
or radiator roller, at floor temperatures of at least 18o C (64oF)
and a relative humidity below 75 % (please see reverse side).
VARIATION OF USES:
Coverage: Depending on the grade of putty knife
used.
A 2 = 1 kg for 4 - 5 m²
B 2 = 1 kg for 3 - 4 m²
C 1 = 1 kg for 1 - 1.5 m²
Coverage can be considerably less, depending upon the condition and
absorbency of the surfaces. For best results please do a test
application!
Drying time: At 23o C (73oF) and 50 % relative humidity,
15 - 48 hours. Surface treatment is possible at the earliest 24 -
48 hours after laying the floor covering.
Cleaning up: Clean equipment immediately after use with
cold water. Remove adhesive spills immediately with a damp
cloth.
Specific gravity: approximately 0,95 g/ml.
Safety advice: S 2 Keep out of the reach of children. S
62 If swallowed do not induce vomiting: seek medical advice
immediately and show this container or label.
Disposal: According to locally regulated laws.
Container sizes: 1 kg, 2.5 kg, 10 kg.
Storage: Cool, dry and frost free. Shelf life: unopened
at least 1 year. Use opened containers within 2 - 3 days.
Package: Polyethylene (PE). This material is
groundwater-neutral and recyclable.
General surface requirement: The application surface
must, according to DIN 18 365, be even, solid, able to absorb, free
of cracks and grease, able to support load, and permanently dry.
Maximal surface moisture: Cement based <2% with floor heating
<1,8% Anhydride screed <0,5% with floor heating <0,3%
Preparation: It might be necessary to prepare the surface
for gluing the material. Level out uneven spots with suitable
bonding filler. Spackle over poured asphalt areas and other
unabsorbent surfaces with a minimum coating of 2 mm. In any case,
the application surface must be absolutely even and evenly
absorbent. Treat highly absorbent surfaces with GRAVA Sealer No.
408 and let it dry for one day. The floor covering material and the
adhesive must be acclimatized to at least 18 °C (64,4°F) for 24
hours before use. Please follow manufacturer’s instructions. Before
laying the flooring material, determine the optimal airing time and
adhesion capabilities by means of a test application.
Working with cork and linoleum: Application and drying must
take place at temperatures above 18 °C (64,4°F). For cork
parquet up to 4mm thick: Apply with a fine-toothed putty knife
(i.e. A2) or a radiator roller a thin but complete coat of
adhesive to approximately 2 m2 of the adhesion surface. For cork
parquet over 5 mm thick: Apply a thin but complete coat of adhesive
to the floor and appropriate number of cork tiles. To glue
linoleum please use fine-toothed putty knife B2 or C1.
Insert floor covering into spread adhesive only after doing this
finger test: If touched lightly none of the slightly yellowing
adhesive must remain on the fingertips, but under light pressure,
the dried surface will burst and fresh adhesive will come out. As a
rule the airing time is 20 minutes, but can be a lot longer. Roll
floor covering once, repeat after 20-50 minutes. Please, be sure to
check seams and rims carefully. The pressed on floor covering
should then again be rolled from the middle outwards with a rubber
roller, or pounded gently with a rubber hammer. Remove excess
adhesive immediately with a damp cloth. After laying the floor roll
the whole area. Check adhesion after 1 hour.
Working with jute backed carpet: DOMO Universal Adhesive No.
513 does contain water, because of this certain carpets could
shrink.
Please observe the following safety rules:
1. Always air very well.
2. Let seams overlap and round about 5 hrs after the gluing, cut to
fit and glue into place.
3. Press carpet tiles as tight together as possible.
4. Apply floor boards after adhesive is completely dry.
Important tips: It is of fundamental importance, that the
surfaces to be glued are capable of absorbing water. If the cork
tile strongly warps or buckles into a concave shape (bowl like)
after being coated with DOMO
Natural Universal Adhesive No. 513, an incompatibility exists. The
manufacturer assumes no liability for damage resulting from
disregarding these application instructions, including poor
adhesion or development of fungi under the tiles. Observe a trial
adhesion of a tile for one entire day, and assess adhesion of the
test tile after 2 days. Can be used as an all-purpose adhesive for
paper, boxes, etc. Not suitable for furniture.
