Range of application: Exterior wood surfaces such as
fences, sandboxes, outdoor toys, flower boxes, hotbeds, barns, and
stables.
Technical qualities: Varnishing, water-repellent, weather
resistant, open-pored, permeable to water vapour. Penetrates
deeply, remains permanently elastic. No peeling or flaking. Adheres
well to thin coatings of conventional stain.
Full declaration: Linseed oil, linseed oil - stand oil,
linseed oil - wood oil - stand oil, orange oil, Isoaliphates,
natural asphalt, linseed oil - stand oil - natural resin ester,
iron oxide, earth- and mineral pigments,birch bark extract and
drying agents free of lead.
Colours: 041 english red 062 walnut 087 light oak 103
dark brown 051 persian red 068 light teak 101 black 450 green.
Dilution: Ready to use.
Application method: Brush, dip or spray in dry condition
at temperatures above 15°C (59°F) and dry weather conditions.
VARIATION OF USES:
Coverage: One liter covers approximately 10 to 15 m².
Coverage could be considerably less depending upon the condition
and absorbency of the surface. Always do a test coating first!
Drying time:At 23°C (73°F) and 50% relative humidity,
second coat may be applied after about 24 hours. Apply third and
successive coats after 24 to 48 hours.
Cleaning:Clean equipment immediately after use with LEVO
Brush Cleaner No. 997
Specific gravity: Approximately 0.90 g/ml (deviations
possible depending upon the colour).
Safety advice: Always be sure to store cloths, sponges,
etc. that are still wet or even slightly moist with DONNOS
Penetrating Fence Stain No. 223 in an airtight metal container or
in water, as there is a danger of combustion due to linseed oil
content. The product itself is not spontaneously combustible.

How to use DONNOS
Penetrating Fence Stain 223
Preparation of untreated wood: Surface must be dry (less
than 15 % wood moisture), solid, able to absorb, clean, and free of
dust.
Application: Stir DONNOS No. 223 well before use . Apply
three thin coats with a drying time of 24 to 48 hours between each
coat. Best working temperature: 15 - 25 °C (59 - 77 °F).
Renovation of porous surfaces: On rough sawn surfaces
particles of dust and dirt from the surrounding air may adhere and
promote settling of fungi because of special climate conditions.
The grey to black discolorations can be removed with GLOROUS
Natural Siding and Masonry Cleaner Nr.1806 and a brush or high
pressure cleaner. Clean old coatings and sand if needed. Continue
as in first treatment. With timely renovation only a second and/or
final coating is necessary.
Renovation of non-porous surfaces: Pore - clogging
coatings (oil paints, stains, varnishes, wax coats) must be sanded
or stripped to completely remove old residue. Surface must be dry,
solid, absorbent, clean and free of dust.Then follow instructions
as above for untreated wood.
Important tips: At temperatures above 20 °C (68 °F)
product may not dry evenly. At temperatures below 15 °C (59 °F), in
rainy or very foggy weather, or when overnight frost is expected,
drying delays and unsatisfactory adhesion is possible. DONNOS No.
223 does not contain fungicides. Rough sawn wood is prone to
blue-staining fungi. Sand rough surfaces. Treat wood prone to
blue-staining fungi and back aired panelling with ADAO External
Primer No. 259. To produce an even coating when dipping or
spraying, brush lightly after 30 minutes to smooth out the treated
surface. Color variations are possible by mixing with KALDET All
Weather Stain No. 270 ( boxwood, oak, walnut, brazil, dark teak,
country blue or light grey), or by mixing with VINDO Natural Gloss
Paint No. 629 (add max. 5% of any color except white or ochre ).
Playground equipment exposed to mechanical wear and tear should get
an after treatment with KALDET Transparent Wood Stain No. 270.
