Range of application: Interior coniferous (pine) timber
such as furniture, floors and porous stone. Not suitable for
cabinet interiors or veneer.
VARIATION OF
USES:
Technical qualities: Water repellent, open-pored,
impregnating, very deeply penetrating, permeable to water vapor.
Accentuates the natural wood grain. Easy to apply; no flaking or
bubbling. German Industrial Norm (DIN) 53160 certified for colour
fastness when exposed to perspiration and saliva. Also DIN EN 71
Part 3 certified as suitable for toys. All LIVOS products have been
developed according to a holistic criteria catalogue and also meet
health and ecological criteria. They have been thoroughly tested
for beneficial working qualities. The ingredients of our products
are fully declared. LIVOS consequent sustainable and resource
saving production is confirmed by certification of ARGE kdRe.

Full Ingredient declaration: Linseed oil, linseed oil -
stand oil - natural resin ester, orange oil, Isoaliphates, linseed
oil - stand oil, drying agents free of lead.
Colour: Clear to light honey (Gardner colour index:
approximately 9)
Dilution: SVALOS Thinner No. 222
Application method: Brush (undiluted), spray, roll with
solid rubber, dip (dilute with at least 20% SVALOS Thinner No.
222).
Coverage: First coat: 1 litre (1.06 fl. quart.) undiluted is
sufficient for 17 m2 (188 ft²), i.e. 60ml/m². Second coat: 1 litre
(1.06 fl. quart) undiluted is sufficient for approximately 33 m2
(355 ft²), i.e. 30ml/m². Third coat: 1 litre (1.06 fl. quart)
undiluted is sufficient for approximately 84m² (904 ft²), i.e.
12ml/m². Could be considerably less depending on the condition and
absorbency of the surface.
Drying time: drying time for the first coat is 8 -16 hours
at 23°C (73°F) and 50 % relative humidity. Subsequent coats and
“wetting-wet” impregnation: approximately 16 to 24 hours, depending
upon relative humidity and room temperature. Avoid drying delays by
providing good light and ventilation.
Cleaning up: Clean equipment immediately after use with
SVALOS Thinner No. 222, or LEVO Brush Cleaner No. 997.
Specific gravity: approximately 0.84 g/ml
Important tips: Due to insufficient oxygen and light,
cabinet interiors treated with products containing linseed oil
often experience drying delays, causing a long term odor of linseed
oil. More suitable are shellacs (LANDIS No. 703, BELOS No. 706),
GORMOS Wax Oil No. 267 or KALDET Transparent Wood Stain No.
270.
Safety advice: The product alone will not undergo
spontaneous combustion. Contains limonene. Keep out of the reach of
children. If swallowed do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice
immediately and show the container or label.
Disposal: According to locally regulated laws. Container
sizes 0.05 lt; 0.25 lt; 0.75 lt; 2.5 lt; 5 lt; 10 lt; 30 lt; 200
lt.
Storage: Cool and dry please see label for expiry date.
Close lid tightly when not in use.
Coniferous (pine): Wood must be dry, solid, able to
absorb, finely sanded (floors up to 180 grain, furniture up to wood
surfaces 240 grain), clean, and free of resin and dust. Glue and
other adhesives must be absolutely dry. Apply 1-3 coats, depending
on surface conditions and absorbency. Wood should become saturated.
After each coat, wait 30 minutes, then spread any excess unabsorbed
oil onto spots that are still absorbent. Sand between coats. LIVOS
products suitable for subsequent treatments: ARDVOS Universal Wood
Oil No. 266, BILO Floor Wax No. 303, SOGO Universal Hard Wax No.
307, BEKOS Furniture Wax No. 312 or BIVOS Oil Wax No. 375. In
moist/damp rooms or areas in contact with water: Use MELDOS Natural
Resin Hardening Oil No. 264 or ARDVOS Universal Wood Oil No. 266
without a wax post-treatment.
Porous stone and tile surfaces: After deacidification
(follow manufacturer’s instructions), leave tile untreated for a
minimum of tile surfaces four weeks. Treat one tile as a test: if
white dots or streaks appear, repeat de-acidification. Saturate
with MELDOS. It is important to carefully remove any excess oil
approximately 20 minutes after application. In dry areas, finish
surface with BILO Floor Wax or SOGO Hot Hard Wax.
Renovation of old furniture: Pore-clogging old coatings
(oil based paints, stains, varnishes, wax coats) must be sanded or
furniture stripped to completely remove residue. Surface must be
dry, solid, able to absorb, clean and free of dust. Porous old
coatings must be cleaned, sanded if needed, checked for absorbency
and smoothness, and treated accordingly. Follow instructions for
application on pine wood surfaces (above). Note: the absorption
ability might have been reduced.
Important tips: Pre- test! To prevent a non-drying surface
from an uneven shine ensure good ventilation during use and drying
times.
Approximately 20 to 30 minutes after application, remove unabsorbed
oil with a lint free cloth to prevent a non-drying surface with an
uneven shine. Always apply a test coat, as oak and other woods
containing incompatibilities such as tannic acid or dyes, or that
have been sanded, stripped, pre-treated, or stained, may experience
discoloration within one week. For glued crosscut wood and veneered
surfaces, observe a treated test area for five days. The glue may
dissolve or odour may appear. Applied to hardwoods, linseed oil may
seep from the pores. Fruit tree woods may become dappled when
treated with MELDOS.
