LIVOS SVALOS Dilutant/Thinner 222

Range of application: For dilution of LIVOS wood stains, varnishes, resin oil impregnations and LIVOS clear and covering lacquers. To brush out resin-rich woods before priming, cleaning of tools and equipment, as well as removing fresh spots.

Technical qualities: Clear, colorless, with a mild odor. Low surface tension, does promote penetration into the micro-capillary system of wood, cork, etc., it encourages wetting of pigments and surface-active agents. Solvent retention in dried coating is almost zero. A light odor of orange oil will be present for a while.

Full declaration: Isoaliphates, orange oil.

Application method: Add SVALOS Dilutant No. 222 slowly, while stirring constantly.

Coverage: Depending on the intended purpose. For spray application, 5 to 10% , as a rule, to dilute LINUS Varnish No. 260 dilute up to 50 % (e.g. for priming).

Specific gravity: Approximately 0.78 g/ml

Flash Point: Over 61oC (142oF), VbF A III.

Safety advice: Warning: Combustible. Vapours may be harmful if inhaled. Exposure may result in irritation of the eyes or chest. Contains: d-limonene and petroleum destillates. Precautions: Use exhaust fan to dispel vapours and ensure adequate cross ventilation. Do not store or use near heat or flame. First aid: If symptoms occur, move to breathe fresh air. If symptoms persist, see a physician. For further health information contact a poison control centre.

LABELING CONFORMS WITH ASTM D4236

Harmful, may cause lung damage if swallowed. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not breathe in fumes. Avoid contact with skin. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting; seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label

For viscosity adjustment: Excessively diluted stains and paints tend to "run" on vertical surfaces. Especially in spray application of colored paints, viscosity should be kept high enough that flotation of pigment does not occur. Diluting too much or too quickly can lead to "solvent shock", i.e. pigments become separated from the binding agent. Excessive thinning of KALDET Transparent Wood Stain No. 270, for example, produces marked spots of pigment concentration on the treated surface.

Contains limonene.

Disposal: According to locally regulated laws.

Container sizes: 0.5 l; 1 l; 5 l; 10 l; 30l; 200l.

Storage: Cool and dry, please see label for expiration date.
